Summertime SadnessWhile things may slow down during the summer, our human experience doesn’t stop. Feelings of loneliness or loss, wistfulness, grief, and other complexities come and go as they wish - often, not as we want.
In the pop song, “Summertime Sadness,” a church bell chimes in the background as Lana Del Ray croons over the loss of a relationship. The program, “Summertime Sadness,” will use song lyrics and other pieces from contemporary culture to open-up and explore the experience of sadness. We’ll consider these pieces in relationship with psalms that may resonate or help illuminate this interior experience in the context of spirituality. Participants will be invited to reflect on and share from their own lives and to consider helpful ways of relating with care. Contact for more information |
